FRP mesh cloth can be laid out through specialized equipment modified by tractors or cars, usually manually. Both ends of each roll of fiberglass mesh paper tube are marked with orange and blue markings. Before laying, the adhesive surface should be selected downwards, and the color of the above marking should be on one end to facilitate construction and avoid laying the adhesive surface. Wrong. When placing FRP gratings, they should be kept flat, tightened, and aligned on both sides. You can use a level to make the FRP grating have effective tension. After paving, use a clean steel wheel roller to roll again. The fiberglass grille is clean, bright, and brightly colored.

The commonly used FRP gratings currently have both self-adhesive and non self-adhesive properties. Adhesives with self-adhesive adhesive can be directly laid on a horizontal base layer, while adhesives without self-adhesive adhesive are usually fixed with stainless steel snap rings and steel nails. The Yangzhou and Nanjing sections of the Ningtong Expressway both use fiberglass grilles without self-adhesive adhesive. The materials required for fixation are:

① The fixed stainless steel snap ring of 50 × 50 × 0.3mm should be kept flat, not warped, and should be chamfered.

② 2-inch steel nails.

When using fixed steel nails or stainless steel buckle rings to place FRP grilles, first fix the fixing buckle and one end of the steel nail to the lower structure that has been sprayed with adhesive asphalt. Iron nails can be hammered or nailed firmly. Then stretch the grid longitudinally and fix it in segments, each with a length of 2-5m. It can also be divided into multiple parts based on the distance of the expansion joint, and the position of the steel nails can be set in the gap of the expansion joint. When the grille is tightened, the fiberglass is in a straight and tensioned state in both vertical and horizontal directions.

The overlap of FRP gratings is longitudinal, with an overlap width of no less than 20mm and a horizontal overlap width of no less than 15mm. Vertical overlap should be placed at the top of the latter according to the direction of asphalt paving. During the fixing process, do not nail the steel nails onto the fiberglass grating, and do not directly hit the fiberglass grating with a hammer. If the steel nail breaks or the snap ring becomes loose after fixation, it needs to be re fixed. After placing and fixing the fiberglass grille, it must be rolled and stabilized appropriately using a rubber roller to firmly adhere to the original road surface.

In actual construction, some construction units use a viscous layer of oil to directly spread fiberglass grilles, followed by pressing rollers. Better effect, glass fiber mesh is less prone to wrinkling.

In the actual operation process, the construction quality has a significant impact on the future use effect of fiberglass grating. Therefore, it is particularly important to strengthen quality supervision and improve the technical level of construction personnel.
