One important aspect of fiberglass grating in application is its laying, and the laying chosen for fiberglass grating with different materials varies. The coating materials used are also different. Here we will explain the application of adhesive in the laying of fiberglass grilles.

Many resins nowadays can be used to impregnate grids and give them the required hardness, compatibility, and corrosion resistance. In addition, polymer information can also be used to modify asphalt lotion, such as propylene polymers, which can reduce the low-temperature brittleness of asphalt lotion when used to modify it. It is best to use the composition information of the adhesive, which can be applied to the fiberglass grid in any suitable way, such as latex method, solvent method, or hot melt method.

When we use it, the latex method involves placing the adhesive in water, using a concave convex printing roller to print the latex like adhesive onto the fibers, and then drying it out; When using the solvent method, the adhesive should be dissolved in the solvent and rolled onto the grid, and then the solvent should be evaporated. The hot melt method is a popular method. In this method, the adhesive dissolves in the reaction tank and is first applied to the roller. The adhesive on the roller is measured and supplied with an accurately controlled blade to form a uniform liquid adhesive film on the roller. When the roller touches the grid, the adhesive is applied to the fiberglass grid.

But in fact, no matter what coating method we choose, an appropriate amount of adhesive should be applied to the surface of one side of the fiberglass grid. If the adhesive is applied to two surfaces or penetrates from one side of the grid to the other, it will cause adhesion to construction vehicles and personnel during laying construction, and may also cause deformation of the grid.

How to demonstrate the outstanding application of adhesives. At this point, the adhesive is applied to the outer surface of the grid, and only 30% to 50% of the surface area of the fiberglass yarn. This is not only more economical, but also beneficial for the grid to smoothly unfold on the surface of the roadbed during laying. Some people suggest that during coating, the method of using engraved rollers to adsorb the adhesive should be used to transfer it to the grid. The practice of laying construction has shown that using this coating method can firmly bond the grid to the rough and porous subgrade surface and achieve satisfactory bonding strength. The bonding dose for grid immersion coating should be around 60% of the quality of the grid.

We have introduced some methods for the application of adhesive in the laying of fiberglass grating, hoping that we can apply them in the future application of adhesive.
